Postal Corporation Kenya adapts technology to fight emerging competition

Postal Corporation of Kenya whose fortunes have been affected by the emergence of new information communication technology has automated its mailing services in a bid to net in tech savvy Kenyans.
The once reliable mailing service in conjunction with Communication Authority of Kenya – CA- today launched radio frequency identification that will enable CA to independently determine and verify the quality of service offered to consumers for public postal services.
Speaking during the launch Telecommunications Regulator Director General Francis Wangusi said that the system will enable Kenya to compete with other international couriers. Kenya is the first country in Africa to adopt the technology that enables Posta to track mails ensuring that it gets to the intended recipients safely. It will also reduce the time taken to deliver mail from three days to just one day in any location in the country
