Ignore Ruto opponents, Balala tells Rift Valley residents

Tourism Cabinet secretary Najib Balala has asked the people of Rift Valley to stand with the Deputy President William Ruto against efforts by his political opponents to diminish his political career.

Speaking in Elgeyo Marakwet county during the opening of Rimoi national game reserve, he warned them that they risk being relegated to the Opposition after the 2017 General Election, if they will not stand with the DP in his quest to reclaim the vote rich Rift Valley block a head of 2017 General Election.

He maintained that Ruto remains the defacto leader of the region and asked those opposed to his leadership to accept the reality.

He claimed the rebel leaders from the Jubilee coalition have hatched a scheme to undermine the leadership of DP ahead of General Election with the aim of depicting him as in capable of commanding the vote rich region politically.
