The launch of the Jubilee Party has entered the homestretch after the merger steering committee announced it had finalised all the outstanding details of the merger process yesterday.
A committee co-chaired by Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi and former Cabinet minister Noah Wekesa announced they have completed the process and are now awaiting direction from President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to give the date of the launch.
Speaking in Karen, Nairobi yesterday, he said all the legal obstacles have been overcome after the National Assembly and Senate passed the Political Parties Amendment Act without amendments from its proposed draft.
“We have finalised setting the nominations and elections rules and the instruments of merger such as the party symbols. We will then give the package to our two principals who will inform of us the date of the launch. It will be the party to win the next poll and beyond,” he said.
